The much-anticipated 2024 Pennsylvania Farm Show kicked off with the unveiling of the annual butter sculpture. This year, the 1,000-pound diorama titled “A Table for All: Pennsylvania Dairy Connects Communities” was revealed at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. Renowned sculptors Jim Victor and Marie Pelton, hailing from Conshohocken, designed and crafted this buttery masterpiece, marking their 23rd creation for the event since 1995.
The artists expressed their immense pride in creating art that honors the hard work of dairy farmers. Victor remarked, “Creating art that showcases the hard work of dairy farmers is an immense source of pride for us.” Pelton added, “We also enjoy knowing that the sculpture tells an impactful story about the importance of agriculture.”
Sponsored by the American Dairy Association North East and the Pennsylvania Dairy Promotion Program, the sculpture not only celebrates the state’s agricultural heritage but also highlights the vital role played by dairy farmers in connecting communities. Each year, the unveiling of the butter sculpture becomes a focal point of the Farm Show, drawing attention to the significant contributions of the dairy industry to the region’s cultural and economic landscape.
