Amazon to Cut Hundreds of Jobs in AWS and Physical Stores Technology

This decision follows closely after the company revealed that it was moving away from using Just Walk Out technology in its U.S. grocery stores.

Additionally, Amazon stated that it will be eliminating “several hundred roles” in the AWS sales, marketing, and global service organization. These changes are mostly associated with shifts in the AWS training and certification programs, as well as sales operations. An AWS spokesperson confirmed that these role eliminations will mainly affect training, certification, and sales personnel, as the company looks to streamline certain business units and redirect its efforts toward more critical strategic areas.
