CBS to Host the Golden Globes Live in 2024

CBS has confirmed that it will be the host network for the 2024 Golden Globes. The prestigious awards show is set to be broadcast live on Sunday, January 7, 2024, starting at 5 p.m. Pacific Time (8 p.m. Eastern Time) following an NFL football doubleheader. In addition to airing on CBS, the show will also be available for streaming on Paramount+ and the CBS app, as part of a new deal between the network and the Golden Globes.

The announcement was made by George Cheeks, president and chief executive officer of CBS, who expressed excitement about adding the Golden Globes to the network’s first-quarter schedule. “Live entertainment and sports have been, and will always be, a hallmark of CBS, and the Globes adds an exciting new dimension to our first quarter schedule this year,” Cheeks said in a statement.

The nominations for the 81st Golden Globe Awards were revealed on Monday morning, generating significant excitement and anticipation for the upcoming event. HBO’s “Succession” received multiple individual acting nominations as well as a best drama series nod, totaling nine nominations. Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” and Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” emerged as the most nominated films, with nine and eight nods, respectively.
