The original Pixel Watch is finally catching up with the Pixel Watch 2 features as Google rolls out the December Feature Drop. This update brings the much-awaited Do Not Disturb (DND) and Bedtime Mode sync to the Pixel Watch, aligning it with the companion phone for a seamless experience.

The new feature, previously exclusive to the Pixel Watch 2, is now being introduced to the original Pixel Watch, allowing users to synchronize Do Not Disturb and Bedtime Mode settings between their smartwatch and smartphone. The update, announced in December, is now progressively rolling out to Pixel Watch owners.

To access the feature, Pixel Watch users need to navigate to the Notifications page in the Pixel Watch companion app. There, a new “Do Not Disturb & Bedtime” section enables users to toggle the feature on or off, ensuring that notifications will be silenced during designated quiet times.

Google’s decision to introduce this server-side addition comes with the benefit of ensuring a controlled and monitored rollout, enhancing user experience across the Pixel ecosystem. The default setting enables the synchronization of Do Not Disturb and Bedtime Mode across the watch and phone when they are connected via Bluetooth.

The introduction of this feature addresses the need for uninterrupted sleep by silencing notifications and reducing digital distractions, which is a common challenge in today’s digital age. This improvement aligns with Google’s emphasis on user well-being and aims to combat the negative effects of excessive screen time on sleep patterns.

Overall, the synchronization of Do Not Disturb and Bedtime Mode between the Pixel Watch and the companion phone reflects Google’s commitment to enhancing user experience and promoting healthier digital habits. As the rollout progresses, Pixel Watch owners can expect an improved and seamless integration between their smartwatch and phone, providing them with greater control over their digital interactions and fostering a healthier balance between technology and well-being.
