India’s space economy is on an upward trajectory, with Union Minister Jitendra Singh predicting that it will soar to a staggering $40 billion by 2040. This projection, shared by the Minister overseeing Science and Technology, Atomic Energy and Space, underscores the significant growth potential of India’s space endeavors.
Singh emphasized the current state of India’s space economy, which is valued at approximately $8 million. However, he underscored the massive anticipated expansion, positioning India as a major player in the global space industry. The minister also highlighted India’s remarkable achievements in foreign satellite launches, with substantial revenue generated from launching European and American satellites.
During the 60th anniversary of ISRO’s rocket launch event, the Minister spoke about the transformative role of the National Research Foundation, Anu Sandhan, which aims to emulate successful models from the US. He also shared insights into the positive impact these developments will have on scientists, creating better working environments and fostering continued advancements in space technology.
