NFL Kicker Brandon McManus and Jacksonville Jaguars Accused of Sexual Assault on Flight to London

Two flight attendants, identified as Jane Doe I and Jane Doe II, have filed a lawsuit against former Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Brandon McManus and the team, alleging sexual assault during a flight to London in 2023. The lawsuit, filed in Duval County Circuit Civil Court, accuses McManus of engaging in inappropriate behavior and demands in excess of $1 million in damages.

According to the court documents obtained by ESPN, the lawsuit claims that the incident occurred during a party-like atmosphere on the overseas flight on September 28, 2023. The women, who were working as flight attendants on the Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings charter flight, assert that McManus, 32, rubbed himself against them and was grinding on them. Additionally, the lawsuit alleges that McManus recruited three other flight attendants to the party, passing out $100 bills to encourage them to engage in inappropriate behavior.

McManus’ attorney, Brett R. Gallaway, released a statement on Monday, calling the allegations “absolutely fictitious and demonstrably false,” stating that they are part of a campaign to defame and disparage the NFL player. Gallaway indicated that they intend to aggressively defend McManus’ rights and integrity to clear his name, characterizing the claims as an extortion attempt.

In response to the lawsuit, the Jacksonville Jaguars have not yet officially commented on the matter.

The lawsuit also implicates the Jaguars, alleging that the team failed to supervise McManus and create a safe environment for the staff serving the team. The Jaguars were in London for two weeks, playing back-to-back international games, with the first game taking place on October 1 against the Atlanta Falcons at Wembley Stadium.

The two women are seeking a jury trial to address the issue and demand justice for the alleged misconduct. The accusations have drawn attention and raised concerns about the conduct and responsibility of athletes and sports organizations, particularly in instances involving athletes’ interactions with staff and the level of accountability and support provided by their respective teams.
