The grueling search for 19-year-old Jay Slater, who has been missing in Tenerife for over a week, continues as rescue teams comb the mountains of the northwestern part of the island. The teenager from Lancashire was reported missing on June 17, sparking a massive operation to locate him.

Slater was last seen attending the NRG rave in the Playa de las Americas resort before reportedly traveling to the rural village of Masca with two men he had met. His phone reportedly died in a vast ravine, complicating efforts to track his whereabouts. The search has extended across the treacherous Rural de Teno Park, with substantial police inquiries ongoing.

Concerns about Slater’s safety were compounded when it emerged that his Instagram account had been accessed and was active following his disappearance. Friends of the teenager have conveyed that neither Jay nor his mother are responsible for this activity, leaving the situation shrouded in mystery.

In a separate incident in the same region of northwestern Tenerife, police also rescued a 51-year-old Scottish hiker who had become stranded in a ravine. The authorities emphasized the difficulty and lack of communication in the area, indicating that the missing teenager would not have been able to navigate it on his own.

As the search intensifies, family and friends of Jay Slater continue to hope for his safe return, while authorities and rescue teams remain undeterred in their efforts to locate the missing teenager and shed light on the perplexing circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
